Posted in Closures and service interruptions
This morning, Canada Post is opening a new temporary postal facility in order to better process the mail and facilitate mail pick-ups.
The new facility is located at 250 MacKay Crescent. Customers will be able to pick up their mail and packages from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Saturday, with the exception of statutory holidays. We will continue to prioritize service during the first hour of the day to the elderly and those with compromised immune systems.
The following customers, whose postal service has been affected by the flooding, are to pick up their mail at 250 MacKay Crescent, unless they registered for the Mail Forwarding Service:
- Customers whose mail delivery to their business, apartment or community mailbox has been temporarily suspended.
- Customers who had a postal box at the main post office located at 101-19 Riedel Street.
- Customers who had a postal box at the River City Shoppers Drug Mart postal outlet.
- Customers who had a postal box at the Clearwater Sobeys postal outlet.
Staggered retrieval process for those picking up their mail at 250 MacKay Crescent
To serve you in an orderly and safe manner, we are introducing a staggered mail retrieval process, and we will have clearly identified physical distancing measures in place. We believe these measures will help reduce line-ups and wait times.
Customers are directed to collect their mail on specific days of the week based on their last name:
- Last name starts with A to F – Monday and Wednesday
- Last name starts with G to M – Tuesday and Friday
- Last name starts with N to Z – Thursday and Saturday
Please check the May 14 update for information on our Mail Forwarding Service, available free of charge until May 31. If you receive a delivery notice card to pick up a package, please check the address of the postal outlet, collect the item as soon as possible, and remember to bring a valid government-issued photo identification. We also remind you to respect all physical distancing measures when visiting our post offices.
We will update the Closures and service interruptions web page as more information becomes available. If you have questions regarding your mail, please contact us.
As we continue to provide mail service, we thank you for your understanding and patience during this difficult time.
